The Innovation Award, sponsored by Team Marketing, is designed to award those who are introducing a completely new, disruptive sports industry product, model, format or service. This new introduction should show an innovative approach, having a positive impact on the industry and making a noticeable change.

You will be expected to demonstrate what sets your product, model, format or service apart from the competition, filling a gap in the market. We will be looking for those who have introduced something never been seen before – innovation in its truest sense.

What were we looking for?

  • Showing an innovative approach to fill a gap in the market, offering wider benefits for the whole industry
  • Having an impact and changing the industry during 2022/2023, challenging the accepted ‘norm’
  • Creatively disrupting the industry to achieve results with a new product, model, format or service

The Fan Experience Award is designed to acclaim those that have changed the game for sports fans. You will be expected to demonstrate how and why your fan experience is unrivalled and the positive benefits it offers for fans, brand partners or the wider community.

There are two possible avenues for this category; on-screen or live in-person experiences. On-screen will showcase digitally virtual experiences and live in-person experiences will seek out those who have set the bar for rights holders and event organisers around the world. We’ll be looking for a demonstration of increased engagement with your audience online or in a physical capacity, whether that’s through a best-in-class app, new way to watch or welcoming fans back to live sport.

What were we looking for?

  • Using creative processes to make your fan experience unique, standing out from the crowd across digital platforms or physically in person
  • Showcasing increased engagement by creating unique experiences
  • Enhancing all aspects of the customer experience, using technology for example across multiple platforms

We’re searching for organisations that are helping propel these markets forward using any of the following tactics: Sponsorship, Production / Consumer Broadcasting, Content Creation or Brand Activation.

You’ll be expected to showcase how your organisation has engaged with your target audience using creative techniques in captivating ways. We are looking for those setting the precedent within Esports or Gaming, demonstrated with measurable tangible results.

The Community Award seeks out and celebrates an organisation that is using sport to bring a community together. This searches for a project that tackles a social problem in a practical way, reduces barriers between people or groups, and creates a lasting platform for positive engagement.

What we were looking for?

  • Highlighting the impact you’ve had in tackling a broader social/societal problem
  • Illustrating how you bring people together online or in-person as a way of strengthening community
  • Exploring the main objectives of your project
  • Inclusive and demonstrative of the ability to bridge differences through your initiative
  • Showcasing your future vision
  • Demonstrating how an innovative approach (e.g. use of new platforms, tools, engagement tactics) had a direct bearing on your results
  • Fundraising can be one aspect of the support shared between community members, but should not be the only or main aspect

The Inclusion Award is designed to celebrate and award those who have challenged the norm within sport. We’re looking for a project/initiative that has fostered inclusion, equality and diversity, appealing to communities irrespective of age, sexuality, gender, disability, religion or belief.

Prejudice can reduce opportunities in sport, limiting diversity, therefore we will be seeking those tackling this issue and promoting increased engagement and participation.

What we were looking for?

  • Illustrating how you bring people together online or in-person as a way of tackling diversity
  • Exploring the main objectives of your project
  • Inclusive and demonstrative of the ability to bridge differences through your initiative
